Many experiences are linked to this area

let us be the ones to advise you:

Cascata del Toce

the most beautiful and the most powerful waterfall in the Alps and the second highest in Europe, with a drop of 143 meters.
At set times, the dams are opened and the water begins to flow.

Enjoy the postcard-perfect view as you walk the stretch of road to the top.

Look out the wooden balcony to admire the waterfall roar as it tumbles downstream and tickles your skin with drops of vaporized water.

Fuel up and take a photo you will remember forever.

Ferrovia Vigezzina

Boarding the panoramic miniature train, means living a unique experience in contact with a lush area in a series of deep gorges, wild mountains, rivers and waterfalls.

A slow-paced journey where you can lose yourself in time.... 52 km of route, 2 countries, 83 bridges and 31 tunnels to discover in just under two hours...

By departing from Domodossola international station and crossing the Vigezzo Valley, you can reach nearby Switzerland!

Lago di Mergozzo

One of the clearest and cleanest lakes of our peninsula just a few kilometers from the Borromeo Gulf.

Thanks to the lack of industry on its shores, the ban on the use of motor boats and a sewer system which runs into the river Toce rather than into the basin, the waters of this lake in Piedmont are among the cleanest in Italy. This supremacy makes it a very popular tourist destination especially for lovers of water sports such as canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing and those who practice sport fishing.

Lake Maggiore and Borromean islands

Lake Maggiore and - particularly - the Borromean Gulf, is internationally famous for its landscape, temperate climate and resorts.

The Gulf's main attraction is the famous Borromean Islands: Isola Bella, Isola Madre, Isola dei Pescatori, and finally the small island of San Giovanni, the only one that cannot be visited.

A boat trip is definitely the best way to turn your trip on Lake Maggiore into a unique and unforgettable experience: much more than a holiday!

Lake Maggiore is the second largest Italian lake after Lake Garda. It is also known as Lake Locarno and about 80% of its surface is on Italian territory and 20% on Swiss territory. The landscape is quite diverse: surrounded by magnificent castles, palaces and gardens, it features deep inlets along the coast alternating with lush vegetation. There are eleven islands on the lake divided between Piedmont, Switzerland and Lombardy. A boat trip offers the best view of the lake and its shores.

Lake Antrona

Lake Antrona, situated at about 1200 meters above sea level in the valley of the same name, is ideal for a summer trip and offers the possibility of strolling as well as having a picnic among fresh waterfalls and regenerating baths!

The lake was formed on 27th July 1642, after a landslide of enormous proportions. It has a ring-shaped path (completed in 2013) encircling it throughout its extension, featuring bridges, tunnels and suspended footbridges which also allow the exciting passage behind the wonderful Rio Sajont waterfall.

Macugnaga and Monte Rosa

Monte Rosa is the distinctive symbol of the Anzasca Valley: the images of this splendid Walser village and the imposing second highest mountain in the Alps are among the most visited and photographed attractions in the Ossola Valley.

At Punta Dufour, 4,634 meters above sea level, Monte Rosa is one of the most spectacular and fascinating mountain massifs of the entire Alpine range and the Himalayan wall which acts as a backdrop to Macugnaga is perhaps the most incredible natural spectacle in the Ossola Valley.

It is as pink as the color this mountain is tinged with at dawn, but “pink” actually means “roise”, “glacier” in patois, the ancient idiom of the local people.

Domodossola

It is a splendid town, at the center of the 7 Ossola valleys, the fulcrum of a borderland with an old town center of absolute beauty.

It retains a medieval appearance with its narrow streets and winding alleys. Piazza del Mercato, a real jewel of Renaissance art adorned by fascinating fifteenth-century arcades where a charming market takes place every Saturday is worth a visit.

Sacro Monte Calvario, included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and a Special Nature Reserve of Piedmont, is just 5 minutes away. There are several religious buildings here, including fifteen chapels and a Sanctuary.
